Communication and social connection between tweens, in a way that works for the individual.
Tween Talk is a group program that provides tweens with a safe and welcoming space to engage with new people of a similar age, with similar interests.
Over two sessions, tweens will have the chance to engage socially, discuss communication together and talk through strategies for meal ordering. This will lead to the second session where they will order a pizza or meal and enjoy their purchases together.
This program is NDIS approved and will help tweens:
- With self-advocacy and self-determination
- Connect with other tweens
- Build their vocabulary, sentence structure and communication skills related to connecting with others and placing an order at a café (i.e. all communication methods are valid!)
- Identify their own strengths and challenges, build awareness of their own body signals (interoception) and make mistakes in a safe, fun and inclusive environment
- Learn about the process of ordering a meal while increasing emotional regulation skills, expressing difficult feelings and communication skills
