🧡 Harmony Day is about inclusiveness, respect, and belonging for all Australians, regardless of cultural or language background. Our cultural diversity is one of our nation’s greatest strength and is at the heart of who we are. We are so fortunate to live in this beautiful country of diversity. I feel so grateful to provide speech pathology assistance to children and families where cultural diversity is celebrated and openly embraced! 🌏

As parents and teachers, we have a duty to teach children to respect each other and one another's cultural backgrounds. Everyone belongs! 🧡

Here are some amazing facts, you might not know about Australia’s diverse population:

⭐️ Nearly half (49%) of Australians were born overseas or have at least one parent who was

⭐️ Apart from English, the most common languages spoken in Australia are Mandarin, Arabic, Cantonese, Vietnamese, Italian, Greek, Tagalong/Filipino, Hindi, Spanish, and Punjabi.

⭐️ More than 70 indigenous languages are spoken in Australia.

The smile on his face when he completed the activity (and pointed to the ‘This is fun!’ visual) was priceless! ~Melissa :-) ... See MoreSee Less
