Our Approach to Speech Pathology Fees

At A Growing Understanding Speech Pathology, transparency and fairness are at the heart of our commitment to high-quality care. Our fees are aligned with the NDIS-guided hourly rate of $193.99 and reflect only the time required to deliver meaningful, individualised services for your family.

Our standard service fee, including the First Appointment, is $225.03. This covers a total of 70 minutes of service, 50 minutes of direct time with your child (delivered in-clinic, online, or off-site) and 20 minutes of indirect time for preparation, documentation, and follow-up. This structure applies to all ongoing sessions to ensure each service includes the behind-the-scenes professional work that supports your child’s progress.

Individualised assessments are billed at the same standard service fee of $225.03 per session, with each session including 50 minutes of direct assessment and 20 minutes of indirect time. Depending on your child’s needs and the assessment scope, more than one session may be required.

All formal assessments include a written report as part of our service standard. A minimum fee of $193.99 applies to assessment analysis and report writing, which covers up to one hour. If additional time is required, it is billed in 10-minute increments at the same rate. You’ll receive an upfront estimate, and we will only invoice for the actual time needed to complete the report. Our reports are practical, relevant, and tailored to your child’s goals, whether for school, NDIS, or therapy planning.

Our fees comply with the National Disability Insurance Scheme Act 2013 (Cth) and the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits. Rates are reviewed periodically in line with these guidelines, and any fee changes will be communicated in advance.

We’re committed to providing clear, accessible fee information so you can confidently plan your child’s ongoing speech pathology care.

NDIS and Early Childhood Intervention

At A Growing Understanding Speech Pathology, our mission is to ensure that all children, especially those with complex communication and feeding needs, have access to high-quality, evidence-based services. As a registered NDIS provider, we proudly support families through the National Disability Insurance Scheme, including our Early Childhood Intervention services for children under 7 years.

Our NDIS registration was driven by a commitment to make our services accessible regardless of how your NDIS funding is managed. Navigating the NDIS can be challenging, especially for families new to the system. By maintaining our NDIS registration, we ensure that every child can access high-quality speech pathology services, regardless of how their funding is managed.

For more information on accessing the NDIS and understanding your funding options, please check out our FREE Speech Pathology Funding Guide. Please note that all families eligible under the NDIS are required to complete a Service Agreement, which outlines how payment will be collected.

Our fees align with the NDIS Price Guide. The current NDIS hourly rate (60 mins) is $193.99.

Cancellation Fees

At A Growing Understanding, we value the time reserved for your child and the preparation that goes into each session. If you are unable to attend, we ask that you provide at least 2 business days’ notice. This ensures we can plan appropriately and continue to provide consistent care.

If notice is provided within 2 business days, your child’s clinician will use that time to offer an alternative service such as an online session, strategy call, or tailored resources to support ongoing progress.

How to Cancel
Call our Client Experience Team on (02) 4044 1122. If calling outside office hours, please leave a voicemail with your name, your child’s name, and the time the message was left.

Cancellation Fees
Cancellations made with less than 2 business days’ notice will incur a fee equal to 100% of the scheduled service, payable before your next appointment. Where applicable, external funding (such as the NDIS) may cover this fee.

Frequent Cancellations
Regular attendance is essential for achieving outcomes. Repeated missed or cancelled appointments may lead to a review of your child’s ongoing care plan.

Off-Site Consultations
For school or community-based appointments, please notify us with at least 2 business days’ notice if your child will be absent. If travel has already occurred, travel fees will still apply. If notice is not provided, the full session fee will be charged.
