Together with a dedicated Service Support Team, our ‘purple family’ offers diverse skills and experience to ensure we have the capacity to deliver evidence-based and flexible services.

We continue to grow our team so we can support families across Lake Macquarie and Newcastle, and help children with communication and language difficulties achieve outstanding outcomes.

CLINICAL DIRECTOR

As the Clinical Director, Emma is dedicated to providing evidence-based training and support for all team members so they can provide exceptional services.

Her expertise in speech pathology, coupled with her commitment to continuous learning and growth, allows her to guide team members with up-to-date, relevant knowledge, enhancing the provision of services within the region. Her initiative and proactivity shine through in her consistent effort to improve services, particularly in the space of accessibility and inclusion.

Lauren Haskins (She/Her)

PRACTICE DIRECTOR

Lauren is the owner and Practice Director of A Growing Understanding. She established the business in 2016 after working in the public health sector. Lauren saw the opportunity to improve the community’s understanding of the speech pathology profession, access to family-centred care, and provide meaningful employment opportunities for other professionals.

Never being one to shy away from sharing her thoughts or raising awareness, Lauren is a keen advocate for the speech pathology profession, and is dedicated to working directly with communities to build their understanding, skills and confidence when it comes to child’s language and communication skills.
