Experiment, Discover and Communicate!
SciKids is a hands-on STEM-based group program designed for children who love to explore, investigate, and discover how the world works.
Through exciting science experiments, technology challenges, and interactive problem-solving activities, children will have the opportunity to connect with like-minded peers while building important speech, language, and social communication skills. Each session encourages participants to ask questions, make predictions, share ideas, and work collaboratively as they investigate new concepts and tackle challenges together.
Supported by our experienced speech pathologists, children will explore communication in meaningful and engaging ways, developing confidence as they experiment, problem-solve, and reflect on their discoveries.
Whether it’s launching a science experiment, testing a theory, or working together to solve a challenge, every activity provides a natural opportunity for communication, collaboration, and creative thinking.
This program is NDIS approved and will help your child develop the following skills:
- Expressive and receptive language skills – describing observations, sequencing steps, following complex instructions, and explaining ideas.
- Problem-solving and critical thinking – making predictions, drawing conclusions, and exploring cause-and-effect relationships.
- Social communication – sharing ideas, discussing different perspectives, and collaborating with peers.
- Vocabulary and language development – learning and using STEM-related language in meaningful contexts.
- Self-advocacy skills – communicating needs, requesting help, making choices, and expressing opinions.
- Confidence and teamwork – participating in group activities, taking turns, and contributing to shared projects.
Each experiment provides a platform for growth, helping children develop language, confidence, and connection in a fun, supportive, and engaging environment.
