Dungeons & Dragons: Speech & Story Quest - Term Group

Embark on an epic language and communication adventure across the school term!

Roll the Dice, Build Your Story, Find Your Voice!

Embark on an epic communication adventure with Dungeons & Dragons: Speech & Story Quest – a term-based, speech pathology-led group program designed for young people aged 10–17 years who enjoy storytelling, strategy, and collaborative play.

Running as an 8-week campaign, this program allows participants to fully immerse themselves in an ongoing Dungeons & Dragons adventure. Across the term, players will take part in a classic dungeon-crawl style campaign, working together to overcome group challenges, solve problems, and shape the story through their choices.

Participants will have greater autonomy and ownership over their characters and the direction of the story, with opportunities for character creation, decision-making, and creative storytelling. Elements and strategies introduced in previous holiday programs will be revisited and refreshed, ensuring both returning and new players feel confident, supported, and ready to play.

The group is co-facilitated by Hayden (Dungeon Master) and one of our experienced Speech Pathologists, blending authentic gameplay with intentional communication support and goal-based intervention.

This program is NDIS approved and with the support of experienced speech pathologists, will help your child practice the following skills:

  • Expressive and receptive language skills – describing, sequencing, and following multi-step instructions.
  • Narrative and storytelling skills – building characters, developing storylines, and sharing creative ideas.
  • Social communication and collaboration – turn-taking, active listening, and group interaction.
  • Problem-solving and flexible thinking – working as a team to overcome challenges and adapt strategies.
  • Self-advocacy and confidence – expressing opinions, negotiating with peers, and communicating needs.
  • Creativity and perspective-taking – exploring different roles, emotions, and points of view through play.

Across the term, participants will build communication skills, confidence, and connection while engaging in a shared adventure that grows and evolves each week in a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment.

This Dungeons & Dragons: Speech & Story Quest is a term-based group program suitable for young people aged 10 – 17 years.

This group is designed to support both returning players and those new to Dungeons & Dragons, with key concepts and gameplay strategies reviewed to ensure everyone feels confident and included.
