Explore art making while connecting with others

Arty fun to help Neurodivergent tweens develop communication skills.

ARTiculate is a special interactive, hands on group for Neurodivergent tweens who are interested in art making and connecting with like-minded peers.

Your tween will have the opportunity to independently explore various art mediums and their communication skills in a supported environment, with two Neurodivergent therapists.

This program is NDIS approved and will help your tween:

  • With self-advocacy and self-determination
  • Connect with other neurodivergent tweens with similar interests
  • Build their vocabulary, sentence structure and reflection skills related to their art making, while remaining true to their way of communicating (i.e. all communication methods are valid!)
  • Identify their own strengths and challenges, build awareness of their own body signals (interoception) and make mistakes in a safe, fun and inclusive environment
  • Learn about the process of art making while increasing emotional regulation skills, expressing difficult feelings and communication skills

ARTiculate is suitable for Tweens – children aged 9 to 12 years.

Presented in collaboration with Newcastle Music Therapy, this group will give your your Tween the chance to connect and grow while they explore new art skills.

Tweens in attendance are required to wear clothing that can get messy and is suitable for painting.

Please note all group programs align with our COVID-19 Safety Plan and ensure the health and wellbeing of all attendees and staff members.

This group will be limited to a maximum of eight (8) children and two staff members. All attendees are required to follow our safety measures.

ARTiculate will run over two sessions, and attendance at both sessions is recommended. The dates and times for each session are as follows:

Wednesday 4 October 2023, 12.30pm – 2.00pm

Participants will be required to meet at our Lake Macquarie Centre:
21/363 Hillsborough Road Warners Bay NSW 2282

Once everyone is gathered, participants will walk together to Newcastle Music Therapy which is located in the same complex as our Lake Macquarie Centre.

The cost to attend both sessions is $180 per child.

This program is NDIS approved.
