Meet Our Speech Pathologist Sophie O'Neill
Sophie grew up in Hobart, Tasmania and graduated from the University of Newcastle with a Bachelor of Speech Pathology (Honours).
Sophie enjoys working with children of all ages and supporting their growth across many areas. She has a particular interest in the assessment and treatment of speech sounds, fluency, early language and literacy development.
Sophie enjoys working in collaboration with children’s parents, teachers and other allied health professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for her clients across all areas of their lives. With an enthusiastic for fun; Sophie ensures her therapy sessions are engaging and that she can deliver high quality, evidence-based intervention.
Sophie loves to celebrate children’s achievements both in and out of the clinic and appreciates the value that A Growing Understanding places on this too!
I love seeing the impact of effective communication on all areas of a child’s life. I feel that when we can communicate our wants, needs, feelings, ideas and opinions clearly, so many doors can be opened.
Speech Pathology can help children to reach their full potential as they become more confident in themselves and I love being part of that!
I love how committed A Growing Understanding is to continual learning and professional development for staff. This ensures that the team are up-to-date with best practice in Speech Pathology and are constantly learning new ways to help our clients and families.
