Meet Our Speech Pathologist Sarah Adams
Sarah was born and raised in South Africa and moved to Australia when she was 11 years old.
After growing up in a poverty stricken country and being exposed to the hardships of this, Sarah always knew that she wanted a job where she could make an impact on someone’s life. She chose speech pathology because she loved the idea that her small impact can produce a profound change in someone’s life (as communication is such a vital tool to everyday living).
As a speech pathologist, Sarah loves working with children and has a particular interest in preschool-aged stuttering, social skills, and speech sound disorders.
She enjoys working with an array of allied health professionals so that she can provide collaborative care to children and their families. Build a strong rapport with children and their families is important to Sarah as she wants every child that she works with to feel comfortable, valued, and excited when coming to speech pathology sessions.
I love that Speech Pathology allows me to collaborate with families and clients to help reach their communication and/or feeding goals. It’s so rewarding to know that my small contribution will make a big difference in a child’s life.
I love the community of A Growing Understanding! We’re all part of a ‘big family’ and it’s so amazing to work within an environment that values support and continual growth.
Molten lava cakes and ice cream!
This is going to make me sound boring, but I don’t actually have a favourite game!
Tough question. I would have to say any book from the Enid Blyton Wishing Tree series.
Any Nicholas Sparks movie!
Any game reserve (safari) in South Africa.
“A friend is one of the best things you can have, and one of the best things you can be”- Winnie the Pooh.
I own a horse!
