Meet Our Speech Pathologist Laura Bainbridge
Laura is passionate about helping others. She believes confidence is an important part of life and has a strong drive to support children with their communication abilities. She loves to watch a child’s confidence grow and see them flourish in so many other aspects of their lives as they build their communication skills.
Laura has been working in private practice since graduating from the University of Newcastle with a Bachelor of Speech Pathology (Honours) in 2016. She has experience working with children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Specific Learning Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder and Generalised Anxiety Disorder.
Laura is a first-time mum to her son, Cohen. She loves to spend time with her husband and son outdoors, or anywhere near the water. Laura appreciates the little things in life like a hot coffee, fresh air, a sunset and ticking things off her to-do-list. As a Libra, Laura loves balance, fairness and understanding people’s perspectives.
Speech pathology is more than just speech. It is empowering people to communicate, it’s having fun, it’s helping others build confidence, it’s forever learning. Everyone deserves to communicate. Everyone deserves to feel confident.
Ever since I was very young, I knew that I wanted to help others. I love that my role is to help people communicate and provide them with the tools and strategies to do so. I love being part of people’s journey as they grow, develop their communication and watching how this plays a major role in so many other aspects of their lives!!
I love that A Growing Understanding goes above and beyond in so many ways! I love the support- the support for the clients and their families, and the support for the clinicians!
